Anna Soubry MP, former Minister for Small Business, is very keen to stop government doing stuff which prevents small businesses from doing business...
De-regulation is hugely important
I think the environment at the moment for small businesses is pretty good.
There are new stats out that show that the banks are beginning to lend again and obviously we’re doing our part with our start up loan service and other assistance that we help to generate for small businesses.
Some of the ratings are showing that we’re getting a better place in the world rankings to do business, and of course from my perspective I think that helping small businesses with things like deregulation, looking at making life easier for small businesses whether it’s to start up or whether it’s to grow, deregulation being hugely important.
Access to other forms of finance – it doesn’t have to be from a bank – and just general information, I think these are important things. And the other thing I’m very keen to help small businesses with is to stop government doing stuff to them which actually is preventing them from doing business.
That’s really important and I’ll continue to be a champion for small businesses within government to achieve that.
