From my experience the nature of healthcare chosen is reflected in the nature of the industry that the business is in.
A couple of examples there – a building company may choose to extend their musculoskeletal cover, which would cover MSK conditions and injuries because that’s a very common thing that you would see in the building trade with heavy lifting.
Another example might be that a city office solicitors firm would extend their mental health cover. These businesses tend to work under great degrees of stress and the employer wants to reflect that in the insurance that he’s providing for his employees.
The one thing to bear in mind though is interestingly it’s not the occupation of the business which determines the cost of the product. It’s actually the benefits that are chosen and this is where medical insurance policies nowadays are very flexible and employers can actually choose the benefits that they want which are best suited to their businesses rather than have benefits in there that are of no use to them.
