The post 16 skills plan will help smes

The post 16 skills plan is an initiative introduced by government to try and address a problem that has grown up over several years.

What we’ve seen is that the emphasis has been on higher education. In other words encouraging as many students as possible to go to university, and although that’s valuable that has created a real dearth of technically skilled employees for small businesses in the UK.

We now need to address that. In the past it’s been possible to bring in skilled people from other parts of the EU. In a few short years that won’t be possible and it will now be much more important for government to address this gap.

We’re hoping that this proposal will help flesh out the need for technical education and provide stronger facilities.
